Our African Coffee Sampler gives you a wonderful opportunity to sample the best of the best of African Coffees. Overall, African Coffee is different than South American Coffee by its robust natural flavors. Deep and earthy, well rounded with natural fruit or lemon notes. Grown at high elevations and picked by hand, these fair trade coffees are meticulously grown, harvested, packed, shipped with quality always at the forefront.
The African Coffee Sampler contains 6 - 2 oz. pouches of these very fine coffees. A 2 oz. pouch makes 10 -12 standard cups of coffee. These coffees are unique, and most have been purchased at special auctions. They will all be roasted perfection by our master roaster.

1. Kenya AA Select:
Our Kenya AA is deeply complex with a powerful wine-toned acidity and full body. Its complexity includes fruit flavors alternating with spice. Deep and rich, Kenya is often considered the pinnacle of true African Coffees. This coffee is another one of our favorites and possesses a very loyal following. Once you experience our Kenya, nothing else quite measures up.
2. Ethiopian Yirgacheffe:
Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is one of the best African coffees on the market today. Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is thought to be the original coffee, discovered centuries ago. Light to medium roasted allows you to enjoy the wonderful undertones inherent with this bean. Ethiopian Yirgacheffe makes for a great cup of coffee with its natural bright floral and mellow tasting notes. It is smooth and mild, with a lemony/nutty tasting notes profile finish.
3. Burundi Kibingo Kayanza Honey Processed
This wonderful offering of Burundi Kibingo Honey Processed in itself is a very unique and hidden gem in the coffee world. When we sampled this bean we knew we had to make it available for our coffee club members and valued customers.
The Kibingo Central Washing Station is located in the Kayanza commune in northern Burundi. It handles crops from approximately 3600 registered growers. Each producer harvests from an average of 300 trees. The station itself has 10 fermentation tanks, 2 soaking tanks, and a drying field with 170 raised beds. Kayanza is one of the most reputable growing regions of Burundi. Soils are rich and volcanic, while the growing conditions are optimal all year.
Tasting notes: Caramel, Jasmine, Orange, and a nice acidity
4. Congo Muungano: Women's Lot Fair Trade
Congo Muungano - Women's Lot Fair Trade coffee was a special purchase at the Grounds for Health Auction
Cupping notes: Brown Sugar, warm spice, and green apple, with an 85 point cup score
Varietal: Bourbon
Grown in South Kivu at an altitude of 6562 feet above sea level
5. Rwanda Ibisi Mountain:
Rwanda Ibisi Mountain Micro-Lot coffee was a special purchase at the Grounds for Health Auction. This coffee cups at 86 points, and has characteristics of Pear, Plum, and Baked Apple with a juicy mouthful. One of our Coffee Club members did a product review and simply said " BOLD, not for the meek"

Grown on the southern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, this estate has the ideal growing conditions for exceptional coffees. With volcanic soil, indigenous shade trees and glacier-fed rivers Mount Kilimanjaro Plantation thrives.
