About Papua New Guinea Coffee

Papua New Guinea lies north of Australia, sharing the island of New Guinea with Indonesia. The original coffee seedlings were Jamaican Blue Mountain stock, planted in 1927. Coffee is grown at 1,400–2,000 meters altitude in extremely remote highland valleys, nearly untouched by the modern world.

All coffee is shade-grown under Calliandra, Erythrina, and Albizia trees. No chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides are used — making this coffee both rare and exceptionally clean. Farmers use a wet-hulled process that contributes to the coffee's distinctive full body and sweet character.
